About
Snowflake Education Services, LLC (SES) believes that each child is unique. By understanding the uniqueness of each child, SES strives to help every child succeed. Some of the most unique children have several specialists who each become an expert on a specific aspect of the child. SES strives to bring that knowledge together in order to have a full understanding of the entire child and build a knowledge on what works best for that individual. SES then aims to help the child's family communicate with the school in order for the child's needs to be met in the least restrictive environment.
Founder and Provider:
Avery Shattuck, M.A., has always been passionate about helping children find the path that works best for their individualities. From advising youth on probation in Washington, DC, to supporting families across the nation as a Senior Information Specialist at the National Resource Center on ADHD, Avery has experience communicating with and uniting the often disconnected parties with whom parents work with to raise their children. Having earned her master’s degree in Special Education for Children with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders from George Washington University in 2012, Avery worked at the Lab School of Washington, a school for children with learning differences, as an elementary classroom teacher who integrated the goals of speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, reading specialists, and psychologists in order to create integrated lesson plans based on individualized areas of need. Avery’s work emphasizes development of self-esteem through the teaching of skills that span social spheres and academic environments. In 2016, Avery’s love for the outdoors led her away from Washington, DC, to the Rocky Mountains, and she has since been working with families in the Denver area to meet their individual goals.
